Focus on "Best-of-Breed" Features and Functions.

Competitive "Best-of-Breed" Study

If you are trying to understand best practices for websites in your space, we perform a Competitive "Best-of-Breed" study. This type of study consists of asking users to perform identical tasks on your site as well as your leading competitors and comparing the results.

During the testing sessions, users are asked to complete surveys in order to capture their satisfaction with each website and to gauge how all of the websites compare. After testing is concluded, usability analysts examine all data and determine the "Best of Breed" characteristics of each site tested. The focus of this study is less on tasks and timings and more on likes/dislikes of each competitor's website.

Typical "Best of Breed" Project Structure

  • Number of Testers: Up to 12 Testers
  • Number of Competing Websites: 2 - 3
  • Number of Testing Days: 4 - 5 days
  • Recommended Stage in Development Cycle: Working prototype or fully functional product website

  • A highlight DVD of video clips from the test covering three to five important topics is also available
